The probe is used to shrink the hemorrhoids from the inside out. A laser fiber is strategically placed in the middle of each hemorrhoid and the laser radiation is activated which causes them to slowly revert to their normal size. This also cuts off the blood supply to the engorged hemorrhoids and within a few days of LHP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, bleeding from hemorrhoids should decrease significantly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long does <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biolitec.com\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/pdf\/Patienten\/LHP_HeLP_EN_20190219_Low.pdf\">LHP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/a> last?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>LHP procedure usually takes 30-60 min. The laser treatment itself takes 15-20 minutes. It\u2019s an outpatient procedure, which means you can go home the same day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is LHP procedure painful?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll receive general anesthesia for laser hemorrhoid removal, so you won\u2019t feel any pain.<\/p>\n<p>After your procedure, you might experience some soreness, tingling or bruising near the nodules that was treated. (reduces immediate post operative pain)<\/li>\n<li>Insert absorbable hemostatic Gelatin Sponge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to expect after LHP?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After removing the hemorrhoids, the patient will be shifted to a recovery room. The patient would be kept under observation until the anesthesia wears off.<\/p>\n<p>Once the effects of the anesthesia wear off, the patient may experience slight discomfort and pain sensation that is likely to be, very minimal. The surgical site would be tender .<\/p>\n<p>You will be allowed to go home same day.<\/p>\n<p>Your surgeon will prescribe analgetic plan in case of pain. Usually you would not require too much for pain management.<\/p>\n<p>Bowel movements may take some time to get normal. While passing the stool, you may also experience a slight burning sensation in the anal area. Talk to your surgeon and discuss if you may need stool softeners.<\/p>\n<p>With laser piles treatment, a patient can resume regular work-life with just two or three days of rest, provided he or she does not have an underlying health condition that does not alter the post-surgical outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>In post operative period your doctor would like to see you in 7 days and 6 weeks after surgery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recovery tips after LHP?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There may be drops of blood along with your stool or on the wipe tissue paper. Don&#8217;t panic! That\u2019s normal.<\/p>\n<p>Keep your anal area dry and clean. Each time you pass a bowel movement, either take a shower or a sitz bath. You may also use baby wipes to clean the bottom. Be gentle while doing so.<\/p>\n<p>You may experience discharge containing mucous for a few after the surgery. It may wet your undergarments. So, to prevent this, you may wear a sanitary napkin.<\/p>\n<p>Ease your physical activities for a few days until you feel completely fine. Avoid lifting or pulling weights or indulging in strenuous physical activities for at least two weeks. Don&#8217;t go sedentary; keep moving and walking; just don&#8217;t exert too much pressure on the body.<\/p>\n<p>Eat a fiber-rich diet and drink enough water. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Keep a check on what you eat. Cut down on junks, spicy and oily foods for a few days.
